Abingdon is located in Harford County, Maryland. It is an unincorporated community that is 25 miles from Baltimore. On State Route 7, the town is located near the Bush River and only a few miles off Interstate 95, allowing easy accessibility to many amenities including recreational and entertainment venues. The town was named for Abingdon, England. It is the site of the first Methodist College in the U.S. Former names of this community include Collett’s Neck and Paca’s Park. The town was founded by William Paca, the third governor of Maryland and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The town has many historic places, several of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
